D06 Estella - Los Arcos

Sorry about the delay in posting!  We walked to Los Arcos last nigh and although we had the Albergue to ourselves the internet was dodgy!

As some of you know the first port of call was the wine fountain at Bodegas in Irache.  Penfolds it is not, most people were filling up their water containers & thermoi.  Andrew & I could barely finish the  thermos lid we used!

Approaching the town of Villamayor de Monjardín, we spotted an odd looking building:

As we got closer, it turns out that it was a medieval fountain sourced from a natural spring:

The spring is coming out of the left hand side.

Here are some other shots from the day.

I particularly liked this:  I've had enough of this stupid walk and these stupid boots!

Towards the end of the day we were very tired and for once it was Andrew lagging behind:

When we arrived at Los Arcos, we went to the first Albergue, which was run by an Austrian ex-pat but we didn't stay because it looked very grubby & smelled really strongly of incense!

We kept going onto another private albergue, which was cheaper as it turned out & we had the place to ourselves!
