As some of you know the first port of call was the wine fountain at Bodegas in Irache. Penfolds it is not, most people were filling up their water containers & thermoi. Andrew & I could barely finish the thermos lid we used!
As we got closer, it turns out that it was a medieval fountain sourced from a natural spring:
The spring is coming out of the left hand side.
Here are some other shots from the day.
I particularly liked this: I've had enough of this stupid walk and these stupid boots!
Towards the end of the day we were very tired and for once it was Andrew lagging behind:
When we arrived at Los Arcos, we went to the first Albergue, which was run by an Austrian ex-pat but we didn't stay because it looked very grubby & smelled really strongly of incense!
We kept going onto another private albergue, which was cheaper as it turned out & we had the place to ourselves!
