D02 - Roncesvalles - Zubiri

Today we walked to Zubiri (although Andrew and I have been calling it Zoombini), we could have gone onto Larrasoaña but our Brazilian friends advised us to stop at Zubiri as the town had shops, bars, restaurants etc and Larrasoaña did not.
This meant that we were having a 5 km shorter day which as we discovered was a good thing.

The day started pre-dawn when we headed out and got our photo taken by the famous sign!

After walking for a bit longer we came across a shrine/statue celebrating the Camino.

After a short time we hit a very nice snowy plateau but the wind was freezing and we couldn't stay for long but got a few piccies.

All though today was not as hard, we were both very sore from the previous day's exertion and were glad to stop in Rubiri.  We arrived as our Brazilian friends were hopping into a taxi to Pamplona.  They were catching up with a friend who was there.  Three other members of our group continued to Larrasoaña and two stayed with us here in Zubiri.
